This case deals with terror finance via Zakat, or tithing. This is an important case to watch, as it will sent a precedent if the US Gov. can succeed in proving that funding went to HAMAS…….

DALLAS (AP) – Deliberations began today in a Dallas retrial involving supporters of a now-closed foundation accused of funding terrorism.

Last year’s federal trial involving the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development ended in no convictions and a mistrial on most charges.

Defense attorneys say the Muslim charity’s support of Palestinians under Israeli occupation did not break the law.

But prosecutors say Holy Land funneled more than $12 million to Palestinian schools and charities controlled by the militant group Hamas (huh-MAWS’).

Shukri Abu Baker and ex-chairman Ghassan Elashi are each charged with conspiracy, supporting a foreign terrorist organization, money laundering and filing false tax returns.

Mufid Abdulqader and Abdulrahman Odeh face three conspiracy counts.
