A SAUDI husband who pimped out his 16-year-old wife for sex was jailed for a year yesterday. The Lower Criminal Court also jailed the Saudi girl for six months after she admitted to working as a prostitute. Both defendants were arrested in an undercover operation after police received a tip-off that she was charging clients for sex. An undercover officer was invited to the couple’s home after he contacted the teenager and offered her BD50 to sleep with her. However, he called in backup soon after he arrived and the girl was arrested naked in the bedroom. The court heard that the teenager confessed to passing on her earnings to her 33-year-old husband, who normally helped her find clients. He was in their Manama apartment when it was raided by police, who also seized BD1,000 in his possession.
