Dubai plans first Prophet museum

DUBAI: Dubai announced yesterday its plans to build the world’s first museum dedicated to the life of the Prophet Mohammed. Dubai’s ruler, Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has authorised construction of The Prophet Mohammad museum to examine the legacy and message of the Prophet. “The project aims to shed light on the life and legacy of the Prophet and the divine message he lived for, thus introducing the message of eternal love and peace Islam gave the entire mankind,” the official Wam news agency said.The museum will also inform visitors on the history and practices of Islam, including the Haj. The museum project will be implemented in three stages. The first and second phases will comprise a section dedicated to documenting the life of the Prophet, with models reflecting each historic stage. The third will cover any future expansion of the museum’s various sections.
