Shaykh DeLorenzo is the lead member of the SHAPE™ Financial Corp. Ethical Advisory Committee. He also serves on the Sharia’a supervisory boards of several Islamic financial institutions in the United States and abroad including Dow Jones Indexes, Yasaar Ltd, iHilal.com and Wafra Investment Advisors. He has translated over 20 books from Arabic, Persian, and Urdu for publication in English, including a three-volume Compendium of Legal Rulings on the Operations of Islamic Banks, has several publications in journals, has contributed chapters and written introductions to books, and is a frequent speaker at conferences and conventions. Following his education in the United States, including Cornell University, Shaykh DeLorenzo studied the classical Sharia’a Sciences with scholars in Egypt and Pakistan.

Sh. Yaquby is a leading authority on the Islamic law of contract for financial institutions. A graduate of McGill University, he is a member of Sharia’a boards for numerous Islamic banks including HSBC’s Amanah Unit (operating in New York, London and Dubai), City Islamic Investment Bank in Bahrain, and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank. He has been involved with the United Bank of Kuwait and HSBC’s consumer contracts used in the US as well as commercial contracts used by other Islamic organizations.
