Shariah is not just law in the Western sense. Unlike Western legal traditions, Shariah covers every aspect of life. At SFW, our mission is to focus on the financial and economic aspects of Shariah.
Shariah Compliant Finance is the opposite of free enterprise, for reasons which we delve into on a daily basis on this blog. And Shariah is a direct threat to freedom of speech and freedom of expression, which are also key to true free enterprise.
The effort by the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to have defamation of religion (but really just Islam) declared illegal under international law is truly an extension of Shariah law into international law.
It is only under Shariah that defamation of Islam is illegal and Shariah allows for harsh penalties for this crime.
